the perfect pill
the perfect weight, size and shape
all in one perfect pill.
starving while the others ate
you took the perfect pill.
amazed at what you could create
you loved the perfect pill
bulimic all for perfect's sake
you took the perfect pill
but tired and hungry, you're kept awake
you question the perfect pill
what's true perfection anyway?
you long for one real meal.
the perfect weight, size and shape
thanks to the perfect pill
but inside you're getting ready to break
you hate the perfect pill
ten pm, it's getting late
time for the perfect pill
addiction to perfection, not too late...
you throw away the perfect pill.
in our modern society, so many of us aim for superficial perfection, especially when we come to the age of comparing and realizing that others are prettier than we are, and that arouses the competitive nature in us.
in our modern society, it has been represented, all around us, that prettiness is true perfection - that prettiness is incredibly important. we have been led to believe that physical appearance is treasured above inner beauty and happiness. and thus, in our quest for prettiness/perfection we end up losing what's most important.
prettiness is superficial - it never lasts forever. no matter how hard you work to maintain it, it's going to disappear with time and age. and with time and age you will realize how you set all your priorities wrong, and you'll also realize that it could be too late to get back what's most important.
happiness.
who is to be the judge of prettiness? all of us are pretty in our own ways, and if the rest of the world doesn't see that, they can jolly well keep taking slimming pills until they discover the superficiality of pretty.
oh wow i've been feeling cheem lately. :P
